These three
studies suggest that musculoskeletal injuries are common, about 20-30% of
recreationally active adults will suffer an injury. Patterns and the prevalence of injury are similar among men and women, but actual risk factors may be gender-specific. Walking, and other moderate types and amounts of activity, seem to be a relatively safe form of physical activity, especially when combined with a strength and flexibility program. |
