The lecture aims at explaining the influence of the type of ascertainment on study outcome, the reason for standardized analyses, the complexity of (simple) monogenetic disorders, the effect of genetic variation on the burden of the disorder, and the modulation of the severity of a monogenetic disorder by environment.
