with aerosols: 1. Deposition and retention models for internal dosimetry of the human respiratory tract. Task Group on Lung Dynamics. Health Physics 12, 173-207, 1966. 2. A very good review and update of the above paper: J. D. Brain and P. A. Valberg. Deposition of aerosol in the respiratory tract. Amer. Rev. Resp. Disease 120, 1325-1373, 1979. 3. Deposition: All factors which determine what fraction of the inspired aerosol will be caught in the respiratory tract (nose to alveoli) and fail to exit with the expired air. Deposition is always given as the probability that an inhaled particle of a given size will fail to be exhaled. |
