The BA is organizing this forum in cooperation with the National Council for Women, the Women for Peace organization, and the UN Women program in Egypt.
The forum aims to prepare a realistic and effective plan by bringing together a group of experts with decision makers and government representatives in Egypt.
Among the participants in the forum are Dr. Laila Eskandar, Minister of Urban Development and Informal Settlements; Counselor Ibrahim El-Heneidy, Minister of Transitional Justice and Parliamentary Affairs;
Major-General Adel Labib; Minister of Local Development; Hany el-Messiry, Governor of Alexandria; and several NGOs and international figures, such as Justine Mbabazi and Thulisile Nomkhosi Madonsela.
The forum includes a number of interactive sessions that aim to set an action plan based on the recommendations gathered from all over Egypt during the last three years. The forum will eventually produce a framework for an effective national strategy for empowering women and promoting their participation in the decision-making process.
