Model of African Union Inauguration Ceremony

Posted on

The BA Center for Environmental Studies will hold an inauguration ceremony for the Model of African Union  (First Edition) on Sunday, 26 April 2015. More than seventy Egyptian and African university students, representing fifteen different African countries, will take part.

During the ceremony, the African Union and its administrative structure, committees,  and work system will be explained. Afterwards, the students will be divided into groups, depending on their country’s geographical location, so that they can work together to prepare for the second edition and carry out the tasks of the Union’s different committees. They will present their views and opinions on the Union’s work system for a better future for Africa.

This program is a continuation of the African League of Young Masters (ALYM) program which was launched at the BA in 2011. It is mainly directed at African and Egyptian students studying at the Alexandria University. It aims to open channels of communication between those African students and their Egyptian peers through weekly meetings and other activities during which the two parties can share and exchange knowledge and experience. It also aims to strengthen Egyptian–African relations on the long run by producing future ambassadors for Egypt in different African countries.
