The Annual Shakespeare Conference at the BA

The BA will hold the Annual Shakespeare Conference on Wednesday, 23 April 2008. The one-day conference will include lectures by renowned Professor John Andrews, Director of the Shakespeare Guild, Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, and Dr. Sahar Hamouda, English Professor, University of Alexandria and Deputy Director, BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center.
All three speakers will be addressing the title of this year’s conference: “The Infinite Variety of Shakespeare”. The program will also include a short modern musical stage production presented by some of the students of the English Department at the University of Alexandria. The musical is intended to give a modern perspective of Shakespearean drama. Faculty members and students of both Cairo and Ein Shams university will also be attending the BA’s annual celebration of the bard.
The Conference will start at 11:30 hrs at the BA Conference Center, Small Theater.
