Launching the “Egypt Memory Online Shop”

Alexandria—Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, announced the launch of “Egypt Memory Online Shop”, by the BA Centre for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT), in cooperation with IBM Egypt. This is one of several websites launched by CULTNAT to archive Egyptian heritage.
Dr. Serageldin stated that the website includes a large collection of high quality photos, approximately 2000 photos, featuring different eras of Egyptian heritage: the Pharaohnic , the Greco-Roman, the Coptic and the Islamic. This collection varies in resolution and price. There is another collection of free photos that could be downloaded, printed and used in various forms. The Website also encompasses various other publications.
“Egypt Memory Online Shop” is published in three languages: Arabic, English and French. It is characterized by an easy and attractive interface with a user-friendly search tool. Users can choose between electronically downloading their purchases or receiving them through delivery services. They can pay using their credit cards, bank accounts or upon delivery of items (inside Egypt). This Online Shop provides a safe digital environment as regards to its privacy policy, terms of use, and delivery and return policy.
