“The Day will Come”: A Musical at the BA

Alexandria—The musical “The Day will Come” will be shown at the BA on 6 and 7 July 2009. It is written by eminent Poet Sayed Hegab, and composed by Maestro Sherif Mohie El-Din, Director of the BA Arts Center, with the participation of Heba Soliman and Seif El-Din Sherif.

A musical in three motions, “The Day will Come” is a journey through our modern world delving into the worries and concerns of the young people today. The first motion or the first song gives an overview of the world around us with its miseries, massacres, famines, and wars. The second motion or the second song envisages an approaching flood that would sweep away the past and the present with all their pains transporting us and all humanity to a new world. The third motion or the third song recreates the future of the human world.

The musical is sung by Mirhan Demeir, Nesma Mahgoub, Natalie Alan, and Mohie El-Din Sherif. Musicians include Mayada Nabil El-Katatni (Qanun), Heba Soliman and Seif El-Din Sherif(Keyboard), Nour Ayman Nour (Base Guitar) and Mohamed Essam Barakat (Drums).

“The Day will Come” takes place at the BACC Small Theater at 9:00 pm.
