The BA Celebrates the World AIDS Day

Alexandria—The World Bank Public Information Center (PIC)- the BA Depository Library, and the Egyptian Aids Society, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Health, will co-organize on Sunday, 22 November 2009, a celebration marking the World AIDS Day.
The 1st of December world annual celebration spreads the awareness on AIDS protection and prevention means, and is attended by media men, intellectuals, goodwill ambassadors, and university and school students.
The program includes a presentation on AIDS reporting the situation of the disease internationally and nationally, the developments in diagnosis, testing and treatment. The presentation will also shed light on governmental and civil society efforts in spreading awareness, supporting and caring for the diseased. The celebration also tackles the issue of discrimination exercised against AIDS patients.
The celebration program will include a folklore performance by Toshka Band from Aswan and another youth performance by El-Hadideya Center in Aswan, a display of art works by Alexandria school students, in addition to songs and entertaining activities by artists from Aswan Band for Folkloric Arts. CDs and flyers on AIDS will be also distributed in the celebration.
The celebration will start at 10:00 am until 5:00 pm at the BACC Small Theater.
