Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the BA, and Helmy el- Namnam, the Egyptian Minister of Culture, inaugurated “The Future of Arab Societies: Changes and Challenges” Conference earlier today. The conference is organized by the BA Futuristic Studies Unit, and it is going to be held from 5 to 8 September 2016.
Baseera: The Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research has launched a free application specifically for conducting public opinion polls, which enables users to attain data in the form of percentages and graphs. This application will be used for the first time during the conference in order to determine the participants’ opinions of the conference and their suggestions concerning future topics. The results of this application will be announced by the end of the conference.
The launch of “The Future of Arab Societies: Changes and Challenges” Conference by the BA, as an Arab cultural center that aspires to participate in drawing the future of the regional and Egyptian community, is considered an attempt to raise questions on the future of Arab societies. The BA aspires for these questions to contribute to directing discussions in Arab cultural and media-related circles toward becoming more open to, as well as critical and aware of, the vitality of discussing the future.
