BA Welcomes Prince Henrik, Consort of Danish Queen Margrethe II

Prince Henrik of Denmark, husband and Prince Consort of Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, and his delegation visited the BA on Sunday, 12 March 2017. The esteemed guests donated a collection of books to the BA, and the BA in turn presented the delegation with a collection of its publications that include key photographs of old and new Alexandria.
During his visit, Prince Henrik visited the statue of Danish poet and author Hans Christian Andersen. He also toured the Manuscript and Antiquities Museums, and he was introduced to the Digital Lab and its objectives by BA staff.
Prince Henrik of Denmark started his life in Indochina and then studied law and political science at the Sorbonne, Paris. He joined the French Foreign Affairs ministry in 1962, working as a Secretary at the French embassy in London from 1963 to 1967.
