Circulation at the Young People’s Library
Posted on
External circulation is underway
for those with annual membership in the Young People’s (YP) Library at the
Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The YP Library serves teenagers from the age of 12- 18
years, providing books, encyclopedia and periodicals in all fields of knowledge
from History, Philosophy and Literature to Arts, Sports and Social Sciences.
A set of rules has been
specially designed to regulate circulation in the YP Library. Members can freely
borrow books (except references and periodicals) for two weeks at most, or else
pay a monetary fine in case of taking-out any other book.
The YP Library’s main
objective is to improve the reading and research skills of teenagers.
Web-accessed computers, televisions and videos are available in the Library as
well as many cultural activities organized by the librarians. Seminars,
workshops, cultural lectures and social programs are periodically organized with
the objective of increasing the youth’s cultural awareness and their
interaction among each inside and outside the Library.
