Sharjah Government Honors 10 Young Alexandrian Poets

The Sharjah Department of Culture and Media, United Arab Emirates, holds a Poetical Evening on Sunday, 9 May 2010, in cooperation with the BA, to honor young Alexandrian poets (less than 35 years), in an aim to support young talents in the Arab World.


This event, held under the auspices of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammed El-Qassimi, Sharjah Governor, is the first ceremony in the Arab world. 10 young poets in each of Alexandria, Cairo and Luxor will be honored.


The recognized Alexandrian poets are: Amira Abd El-Shafy, Eman El-Sebaay, Tamer Anwar, Sameh Sekrmah, Shaimaa Mohamed Hassan, Saleh Ahmed, Adel Abu El-Anwar, Omar Hazek, Mohamed Mokhaimer and Hagar Omar.
