The French Revolution in Cairo Salon

The weekly Cairo Salon TV Show, presented by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, devotes two episodes on the French Revolution. The first part will be aired on Channel One on Friday, 28 May 2010, at 8:30 pm.

 

Dr. Serageldin will host Mrs. Noha Omar, Deputy Director of the BA Publishing Department, who took part in translating several BA publications. Mrs. Omar is currently working on her MA in the French novel.

 

The French Revolution was a period of radical social and political upheaval in the French and European history, under the slogan “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity”, and the social contract theory developed by Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
