The BA announces the winners of the second round of Abdel Rahman El-Abnudi Prize for Slang Poetry and Critical Studies

The BA and Hassan Rateb Foundation for Creativity are honored to announce the winners of the second round of Abdel Rahman El-Abnudi Prize for Slang Poetry and Critical Studies. Winners were selected from a shortlist that was announced in mid-April 2020 and was approved by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the BA.
Winners in the Slang Poetry section are:

Khalaf Qorani Gaber Abdel Azim, for his poem Ayel Bytayar Ghanaweih (A Child Flying his Songs)

Ahmed Mohamed Moustafa Abdel Hay, for his poem Alhazima Elkamla (The Total Defeat)
Winners in the Critical Studies section are:

Kamilia Abdel Fattah Hefny Amer, for her study "Elements of Narrative in Poetry: From Ahmed Semaen to El-Abnudi"

Amr Ahmed Mohamed Elazaly, for his study "Streams of Achieving Specificities in Abnudi's Poetic Project"
The first winners in both sections receive EGP 30,000, while the second winners receive EGP 20,000. Additionally, certificates of merit will be granted to the winners and shortlisted contestants.
It is worth mentioning that Abdel Rahman El-Abnudi Prize for Slang Poetry and Critical Studies was first launched in 2018, in a ceremony held at the BA Sinnari House and attended by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Dr. Hassan Rateb, Mrs. Nihal Kamal, and a host of prominent intellectuals, writers, and poets.
