The BA Organizes “Egypt Tomorrow: A Model of the New Republic” Forum

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina organizes “Egypt Tomorrow: A Model of the New Republic” Forum to discuss the different aspects of the ‘New Republic’ in Egypt, as well as its ruling philosophy. The event will take place on Wednesday, 28 July 2021, at 12:30 pm, in the BACC Small Theater.

This forum is held in light of the announcement of the ‘New Republic’, which represents the birth of a country established on new foundations. It will be inaugurated by Dr. Moustafa Elfeki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.

The forum tackles three main aspects: the ‘New Republic’ and the concept of the renaissance project in modern and contemporary Egyptian history; the identity of Egypt and the regional and international challenges; and the Egyptian citizen: today’s priorities and tomorrow’s expectations.

A host of prominent figures are expected to take part in the event, including Dr. Latifa Salem, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Faculty of Arts, Banha University; Dr. Mohammed Afifi, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University; Dr. Gamal Shakra, Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, Ain Shams University; Dr. Ali Eldine Helal, Professor of Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University; Dr. Ahmed Youssef Ahmed, Professor of Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University; Ambassador Mohammed Badr Eldine Zayed, former Assistant Foreign Minister; Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Professor of Political Sociology, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University; Dr. Saeed El-Masry, Professor of Sociology, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University; and Dr. Hania Sholkamy, Professor of Anthropology, the American University in Cairo.
