Developing a New Approach to Literacy at the BA

As part of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina scientific and cultural events, and its role in promoting the national plans of development and the general trends of the Egyptian state that grant priority to education, the BA is organizing a seven-month literacy experimental course titled “A Book and a Screen”, starting January 2022.
BA specialists have been developing a new approach to adult literacy since the beginning of 2021, which is based on audio learning and attempts to integrate mobile phones in the educational process, as they are among the most important media used in reading and writing in contemporary life.
This course aims at encouraging graduates of literacy classes to continue reading and learning. Through the “Easy Reading” program, difficulties facing learners have been monitored, and a new approach has been developed to address these challenges in future educational programs.
