“Towards a Virtual World: From Digitalization to Metaverse” in a Conference at the BA

The BA Center of Francophone Activities organizes its annual conference to celebrate the International Francophonie Day”, under the title “Towards a Virtual World: From Digitalization to Metaverse.” The celebration takes place on 2 and 3 March 2022, in the BACC Small Theater.
The conference highlights the scientific and technological development in various fields, most notably in culture and education, health and innovation, trade and industry, environments and risks.
A host of Francophone ambassadors and consuls, together with experts, scientists, and professionals in the aforementioned fields are expected to take part in the event, either in person or via videoconferencing. Their aim is to introduce the metaverse technology, that makes people feel more present in the virtual world, and less present in the real world, and how this technology might affect their everyday life.
The conference is organized in cooperation with Senghor University, the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie, and the International Business Driving License (BDL), in addition to a number of partners, including Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, Génial maison d'édition, Group SEB Egypt Zahran, and Expand Company.
On the first day of the conference, and before the commencement of the opening session, a French dictation competition will be held for preparatory and secondary school students, university students, and the general Francophone public, in collaboration with the French Language and Literature Department, at the Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University.
A special competition related to the conference theme was launched on the Center of Francophone Activities website last month, to encourage the Francophone public to participate in the event by submitting literary and artistic works, such as poetry, storytelling, drawing, caricature, or by presenting a conceptual video on metaverse.
A Francophone music concert and a number of theatrical performances will take place as part of the closing ceremony, together with the announcement of winners in both the main competition and the dictation competition.
