"Development Experiences and the Creativity of Local Cultures" at the BA

The third session of the conference "Civil Society: Development Experiences and the Creativity of Local Cultures" was held today, as part of the "Civil Society: Towards an Effective Partnership in the New Republic" conference organized by the BA.
The meeting witnessed the participation of MP Sabha Ibrahim Hassan, an engineer at the Ministry of Agriculture, and Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the "Bint Al-Badia Association for Development"; Mr. Mahmoud Ibrahim Ali Yahya, Board Member of the Siwa Sons Association for Tourism Services and Environmental Preservation; Mr. Mohamed Al-Nadi Mohamed, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Mohamed Al-Nadi Foundation; Dr. Magdy Helmy, Advisor to the Awareness Program for Community Development at the Ministry of Social Solidarity; and Dr. Mustafa Mohamed Ahmed Karim, Strategic Management and Institutional Structuring Consultant and Legislative Coordinator of the Volunteer and Service Work Forum at the Coordination of Party Youth and Politicians (CPYP). The session was moderated by Prof. Howayda Adly Roman, Professor of Political Science at the National Center for Social Research.
MP Sabha Ibrahim spoke about the experience of "Bint al-Badia in North Sinai", which was able to repurpose the Sinai dress and professionally update it as a product.
Mr. Mahmoud Ibrahim pointed out that the Siwi society is different with regard to its traditions and culture, which is far from violence and crime.
Mr. Mohamed Al-Nadi also said that the objectives of his foundation are to fight extreme poverty, improve livelihoods and provide families with a decent life.
For his part, Dr. Magdy Helmy stressed that the goal of the program is to form positive values, attitudes and behaviors for all family members in order to help the Egyptian state in its sustainable development efforts.
At the end of the session, Dr. Mustafa Ahmed, Legislative Coordinator of the Volunteer Work Forum, commented on the need to fully document the successful models for the benefit of society.
