“Czech and Egyptian Heroines” Exhibition at the BA

The Bibliotheca Alexandria will inaugurate a new exhibition entitled “Czech and Egyptian Heroines", on Wednesday, 5 July 2023, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Cairo, the Czech centers, the European Union Delegation in Egypt, the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art (University of West Bohemia), the Faculty of Fine Arts (Helwan University), and other partners. The exhibition will run until 15 July 2023.
Created in the Czech Republic in 2020, this exhibition presents artistic portraits of distinguished women seen through the eyes of a younger generation of painters and graphic artists.
The exhibition features portraits of 24 Egyptian and Czech women, living mainly in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, who contributed to shaping significant events in both countries.
It is worth noting that the exhibition was first staged at the Aswan International Women's Film Festival in March 2023, and later in the cities of Luxor and Cairo. It has so far witnessed a huge public turnout in Egypt.
