The Bibliotheca Alexandrina is launching the "First Time #30" exhibition, on Tuesday, 15 August 2023, at 2:00 pm, in the BACC East Exhibition Hall.
Since its revival in 2002, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina has been keen on prioritizing youth activities in all fields of knowledge, as different forms of art have received special attention in shaping the Library's program of events. Among these events came the "First Time" exhibition, which kick-started its activities in 2006, and quickly gained great attention from young artists since it provided the opportunity for promising talents to showcase their artistic experiences in an integrated manner as part of a professional artistic display. This opportunity seeks to enhance the value of their experiences, give them confidence and significantly motivate them to develop their artistic skills.
The concept of this year's exhibition, which comes in its seventeenth edition, was developed to enable the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to embrace a larger number of artists and keep pace with the changes in the art scene. This year's theme was chosen to be "#30" in order to focus on young people between the ages of 16 and 30 and their evolving artistic experiences.
This year's forum will feature 22 artists from Alexandria, Cairo and Mansoura, presenting their promising creations across a variety of art forms, including painting, drawing, printing, sculpting, ceramics, collage and photography.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, 9 September, 2023; daily from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm, except Fridays, and is open on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, in the BACC East Exhibition Hall.
