Dr. Moufid Shehab Reveals Details of the Legal Battle to Reclaim Taba in a Seminar at the BA

The Bibliotheca Alexandrina, in cooperation with Alexandria University as part of the cultural program of the Faculty of Law, organized yesterday morning a seminar entitled "The October War: Lessons Learned", delivered by Prof. Moufid Shehab, former Minister of Higher Education, and moderated by Dr. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Dr. Zayed expressed his delight at the partnership with Alexandria University to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the October victory, in the presence of Dr. Moufid Shehab, who contributed greatly to his country, not only as a legal expert, but also as an accomplished politician and distinguished minister.
He stressed that Shehab has a significant presence in the public and cultural domains, and is a model for the serious intellectual who engages with the issues of his homeland, pointing out that he is a member of the BA Board of Trustees.
Dr. Abdel Aziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, stressed the importance of recalling and drawing inspiration from the memory of the October War, which transformed the Egyptian state and the region. He pointed out that the university is celebrating the October victory this year over the course of a week of seminars and celebrations targeting the new generation to learn about the war that restored national sovereignty and dignity, and how it affected the Egyptian state, the Arab world and the world at large.
In his speech, Dr. Shehab thanked the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Alexandria University and the Faculty of Law for hosting this seminar. He added: "I was honored to chair the Board of Directors of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in the construction phase, and I am always glad when I see this distinguished edifice." He was also pleased with the idea of the cultural season of the Faculty of Law, stressing the university's role in education, building awareness and serving community issues.
