The BA Celebrates World Braille Day
Posted on
The BA Taha Hussein Library for the Visually Impaired organizes a World Braille Day celebration, on Thursday, 4 January 2024, at 10:00 am, in the BACC West Exhibition Hall.
The celebration aims to give the blind people in Egypt their right to celebrate this day, in order to spread awareness among all segments of society about their rights. It also aims to encourage the blind to read and write in Braille, while raising awareness among sighted students on how to deal with their blind peers, provide them with community assistance and learn about their world.
This year's celebration will witness the participation of a number of schools in interactive leisure activities through which they will learn about Braille and how to read and write using this system. It will also include a presentation on Louis Braille, the inventor of the Braille technique.
