The BA Sustainable Development Studies, Youth Capacity Building, and African Relations Support Program organizes a webinar entitled "Globalization and Unplanned Urban Growth in the Arab City", delivered by Dr. Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs, and moderated by Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Professor of Sociology and Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The event will be held on Tuesday, 27 February 2024, at 6:00 pm.
This webinar is part of a series of seminars entitled "Social Sciences in a Changing World", launched by the BA last August, in cooperation with the Center for Research and Social Studies at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. It will discuss the spread of unplanned urban growth in Arab cities and the obliteration of their identity. It will also examine the different life systems and the consumption pattern in the Arab region, especially with the increased population density, which contributed to the severity of the problem, and put pressure on resources and increased the need for further urbanization.
The event is open for public and will be broadcast via Zoom in the link below:
