Science Festivity at the BA Planetarium Science Center

The BA Planetarium Science Center is organizing its “Science Festivity” for the 18th consecutive year, on 26 and 27 September 2024, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The “Science Festivity” is a public festival that aims to strengthen the position of science in society, providing an opportunity for audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds to question, discuss, and explore through a variety of interactive activities.

The theme of this year's celebration is "Science in Ancient Egypt", where many workshops will be held that shed light on scientific fields in ancient Egypt, such as medicine, engineering, embalming, agriculture, ancient industries, hieroglyphics, and papermaking. The activities will also include a visual trip inside the tomb of King Tutankhamun, together with interactive scientific presentations under the titles "Egyptian Queens", "The Journey", and "King Ahmose".

Entry is free of charge upon prior reservation. Events and activities for school students aged 4 –18 are held at the Science Village (BA Plaza) and the Conference Center.

The celebration is divided into periods as follows:

Thursday, September 26, 2024:

Morning period from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm.

Afternoon period from 12.00 pm to 2.00 pm, for school trips (kindergarten, primary, preparatory, and secondary levels).

A third period for individuals and families from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm.

Friday 27 September 2024:

Morning period from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Second period from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.
