Prof. Ahmed Zayed, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, President of the Arab Council for Childhood and Development, inaugurated the sixth edition of the exhibition "Talal: A History Read by Generations" at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina headquarters in the presence of senior diplomats, parliamentarians, and cultural figures.

In his speech, Professor Ahmed Zayed said that this exhibition showcases the career of an international Arab icon who made history as the first Arab UN High Representative for Children, dedicating his life to the belief that institutional work is the scientific and methodological way to achieve development. Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz's career, his contributions to humanity, and his role in raising awareness of the different issues affecting Arab children were the main reasons behind the establishment of the multiple development organizations launched by Prince Talal, whether for women, children, sustainable development, or his establishment of the Arab Network for NGOs.

HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud began his speech by expressing his deepest gratitude and appreciation to H.E President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his interest in fostering development institutions and his continued support for every project that strengthens the bonds of brotherhood between both countries.

Vice Admiral Ahmed Khaled, Governor of Alexandria, noted that the ceremony at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to inaugurate the sixth edition of "Talal... A History Read by Generations" is a distinguished cultural event that embodies the values of loyalty and creativity and emphasizes the importance of documenting inspiring experiences that remain etched in our memory and continue to be a source of inspiration for future generations.

The opening ceremony included a tribute to Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, former Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, in recognition of her prominent role in supporting joint Arab action and promoting the achievement of sustainable development goals. The Bibliotheca Alexandrina was also honored, with Dr. Ahmed Zayed receiving the award in recognition of the Library's efforts in hosting the exhibition. The ceremony presents screenings of documentary films about the life of Prince Talal, as well as an overview of previous exhibitions.

This is the sixth edition of the “Talal: A History Read by Generations” exhibition series, which started in 2020 and has traveled to Riyadh, Kuwait, and Cairo, culminating in this year's edition hosted by the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The exhibition features a collection of personal belongings, rare manuscripts, documents, photographs, official correspondence, as well as documentary works and films related to the life of the late Prince Talal.

The exhibition, with its 11 pavilions, tells stories and recounts events and achievements from the life of Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, including his upbringing and his eventful development career that spanned six decades until his passing in 2018, together with his first responsibilities and the initiatives and institutions he founded. The exhibition also dedicates a special pavilion highlighting His Highness's intellectual, cultural, and developmental ties with Egypt.

The opening ceremony was attended by high-level officials, intellectuals, public figures, diplomats, parliamentarians, and media professionals.

The exhibition will be open to the public on 8 and 9 September 2025, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm, accompanied by cultural activities over the two days.
