The Role of Tourism Awareness in Improving the Image of Tourism in Egypt.

Alexandria — Faculty of Tourism and Hotels- Alexandria University is organizing the Fifth Annual Conference entitled The Role of Tourism Awareness in Improving the Tourism Image of Egypt with respect to the International Tourism Map, during the period from 17-19 April 2006 at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Conference Center. The conference will be held under the auspices of H.E. Prof. Hany Helal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, H.E. Mr. Zoheir Garanah, Minister of Tourism, General Mohamed Abdel Salam El-Mahgoub, Alexandria Governor, Prof. Mohamed Ahmed Abdellah, President of Alexandria University, and Prof. Enayat Mohamed Ahmed, Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Hotels and Chairperson of the Conference.
The Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, through its fifth annual conference seeks to shed light on tourism awareness in improving the tourism image of Egypt on the international tourism map and in understanding the role of tourism activities in improving peoples’ livelihoods, and thus, helping create an atmosphere which is more convenient for tourists.
The conference aims at creating a pressing public opinion which stimulates the administration to perform its functions in a way that renders tourists areas a comfortable place for its inhabitants as well as its visitors without obstacles or constraints. It also aims at creating some sort of awareness concerning the elimination of tourists’ exploitation.
The themes of the conference include the role of municipalities and the Regional Authority of Tourism in creating integrated tourism awareness; tourist facilities including entrance visas and sanitary and customs procedures; and tourism awareness of the concerned authorities and its role in re-planning tourist areas and caring for the promising areas which teem with archeological treasures and transforming them into spots well able to attract international tourism (or cultural tourism).
