Stand up Against Poverty

Alexandria—Launched by the United Nations Millennium Campaign, STAND UP is an exciting challenge to set an official Guinness World Record for the greatest number of people ever to Stand Up Against Poverty. On October 15 , the world will come together and physically stand up to remind their governments that promises to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and help the billions living in extreme poverty by 2015, must be kept. The BA, led by Dr. Ismail Serageldin and Mahmoud Kabil (UN Goodwill Ambassador), will join in this cause on the 15 October as citizens of Alexandria are invited to gather in the BA Plaza to symbolize our unification against poverty.
