Renovation of Villa Antoniadis

Alexandria—through the renovation of Villa Antoniadis, the BA seeks to conserve this historic site, which represents a valuable addition to the architectural landmarks in Egypt. On the other hand, the villa is an ideal site for all scientific and cultural events organized by the BA. The villa will be a center for scholarships in Alexandria and the Mediterranean. The BA will host intellectuals and artists from the Mediterranean in Antoniadis to enhance the spirit of cultural exchange in the region. The project also includes ideas such as building an open air theater and a museum for all Antoniadis acquisitions.
In recognition of the great importance of this project culturally and historically, Vodafone Foundation gave a donation to BA for the renovation of Villa Antoniadis. Mr. Mohamed Aly El-Hamamsy, Deputy Chairman of Vodafone and Ms. Noha Saad, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, handed the check to Dr. Ismail Serageldin Director of the BA in a special ceremony on Sunday, 8th October 2006.
