An Honorary Doctorate from Nantes University to the Director of the BA

Alexandria — Dr. Ismail Serageldin, the Director of the Library of Alexandria received on Friday, 13 October 2006 an Honorary Doctorate from Nantes University, which is one of the distinguished universities in France. The Doctorate was awarded during a celebration attended by the president of the university, university staff, and other intellectuals.
The Doctorate was given to Dr. Serageldin in recognition of his tremendous efforts in serving cultural development throughout his career. The celebration included a lecture by Dr. Serageldin on the BA and its cultural, social, and scientific role in Egypt and the world at large.
