Alexandria—the Jamnalal Bajaj Foundation 2006 International Award was received by Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, on Monday, 6 November 2006, during a special ceremony at Bombai, India.
Mr. N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman and Chief Member, Infosys Technologies Ltd. handed Dr. Serageldin the award in recognition of his endeavors, throughout his career in disseminating the values adopted by Ghandi outside India particularly within the realms of social and cultural development.
