Handing Out the Awards of the Egyptian Universities Olympics at the BA

The BA witnessed handing out the awards and medals to students participating in the first Olympics of Egyptian Universities on Thursday, 31 July 2008.
Dr. Hany Helal, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, General Adel Labib, Governor of Alexandria, Dr. Hassan Nadir, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, in addition to presidents of Egyptian universities and a group of university professors and attended the ceremony.
Dr. Hany Helal gave out the awards to the participants, where universities competed in 71 contests for 227 gold, silver and bronze medals in individual and group games.
Alexandria University ranked first in terms of number of medals; 23 gold, 13 silver and 14 bronze medals; Cairo University ranked the second; and Helwan University was the third.
