The Finnish Government Donation to the BA

H.E. Mr. Hanomati Fara, the Finnish Ambassador to Egypt and H.E. Mr. Omar El-Hariry, Consul-General of Finland in Egypt visited the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on 24 February 2003 to donate the second collection of books to the Library. The donation includes various books on different topics of the Finnish literature, in addition to the books of one the Finnish writers who was a Noble Laureate in Literature in 1939. It also includes a number of books written by orientalists on the Arab region. H.E. the Ambassador donated a rare book on Dr. Senouhy El-Masry, one of the most famous brain surgeons who made miracles at a time when no one dared to venture into this field. Within the framework of this important visit and donation, the BA Finnish Friends Association donated some Finnish and English books as well as a cookery book in Arabic. H.E. the Ambassador and the accompanying delegation were received by H.E. Ambassador Taher Khalifa, the BA External Relations Consultant.
