Visit of the American Ambassador to the BA

H.E. Mr. David Walsh, the American Ambassador to Egypt, visited the Bibliotheca Alexandrina on 5 March 2003 to donate three collections of books to the Library. The first collection includes “the American Library” books and is made up of the most important works by the most eminent American writers. The second collection, which is entitled “New Horizons”, is produced by the Program of Regional African Services, which is affiliated to the American Embassy in Paris. This collection includes 60 titles in economy, management, law and social sciences. As for the third collection, it includes the American translated books over the past 30 years and is published by the American Information Agency.
H.E. the Ambassador stated that the American Agency for International Cooperation has donated US$23 million to the BA due to the leading role of the Library in enriching the cultural arena in Egypt.
