The Seagull in a Play Reading at the BA
Posted on
Alexandria— The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in English on Wednesday, 8 July 2009. Participants will read The Seagull by Anton Chekov.
The play dramatizes the romantic and artistic conflicts between four characters: the ingénue, the fading actress, her son the symbolist playwright, and the famous middlebrow story writer. The Seagull, a work according to the author contained ‘‘five tons of love,’’ is about a very human tendency to reject love that is freely given and seek it where it is withheld.
The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
