On the
morning of November 9, Egypt will witness one of the most fascinating natural
phenomena, a total lunar eclipse. The
Moon will enter Earth’s umbra at about 01:30 Cairo local time.
The eclipse will also be
visible in Europe, Africa , most of Asia and the Americas.
The
totality phase of the eclipse will last only 25 minutes, which is unusually
brief, as the Moon will pass through the southern edge of Earth’s shadow.
Unlike solar eclipses, lunar eclipses can be viewed safely with the unaided eye,
and it is recommended to observe the eclipse through the telescope as the Moon
shows varied vivid colors during the totality phase.
