The Translator of To Kill a Mockingbird Gives a Lecture at the BA

Alexandria— The BA organizes on Thursday, 30 July 2009, a lecture about translating the American novel To Kill a Mockingbird written by Harper Lee.
Dr. Dalia El Shayal, Professor at the English Department, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, speaks about her experience with the translation of the novel into Arabic, illustrating her talk with some examples from the movie based on the novel.
The BA has previously held a number of events around To Kill a Mockingbird, as part of the activities of The Big Read Egypt/U.S., a cultural project including various public events around a selected novel.
The second phase of The Big Read was initiated as of the beginning of July 2009, featuring events around the novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.
The Lecture takes place at the BACC Lectures Hall at 5:00 pm.
