Alexandria—The BA Planetarium Science Center (PSC) organizes on Thursday, 29 October 2009, a Lecture entitled “Nanotechnology- New Designs For Future Applications”. The Lecture is given by Dr. Mona Bakr, Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Laser Enhancement, Cairo University, and student of Professor Moustafa El Sayed.
The Lecture discusses factors affecting the shape of the nanocrystals, and the new optical properties associated with these new shapes. In addition, the possibility of using these nanostructural materials in high performance solar cells and optoelectronic devices will be exposed.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Bakr works with a research group (22 graduate students) on constructing novel nanomaterials for solar cell applications, photoelectronic devices, biomedical imaging, cancer therapy, nanocatalysis, and water treatment.
The lecture is held at the BACC Lectures Hall at 10:00 am, and is open for public.
