Ayoub in a Play Reading at the BA
Posted on
Alexandria—The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in Arabic on Wednesday, 25 November 2009. Participants will read Ayoub (Job) by Mikha'il Na'ima.
The play is influenced by the life of Job, the prophet who was blessed with a luxurious life and whose piety and devoutness were idol. But the devil took this back to god’s gifts to Job, without which he would have disbelieved. God wanted to examine Job; he lost his sons, money and health, but remains devout nonetheless. He was thus rewarded with double of what he originally owned, in addition to a long life.
The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
