Closing of “Islamic Culture, Contemporary Thought, and Community Outreach” Course at Al-Azhar

Dr. Mohamed Mehana, Advisor to the Grand Imam of al-Azhar, and Dr. Khaled Azab, Head of the BA Central Projects and Services Sector, concluded the “Islamic Culture, Contemporary Thought, and Community Outreach” Course on 7 December 2016. The course was held in cooperation with the World Association for al-Azhar Graduates, and it was attended by 70 trainees that included lecturers and assistant professors from al-Azhar University.
The course included 22 lectures that aimed to transfer contemporary knowledge to the new generations of al-Azhar scholars. The lectures tackled various topics, including psychology and creativity, the recruitment methods used by extremist groups and ways to confront them, the role of civil organizations in preserving the Arab language, the relationship between Coptic heritage and Arab culture, and codicology and its significance.
Dr. Khaled Azab stated that the BA will hold more series of Contemporary Islamic Culture courses at al-Azhar in the future, within the framework of the strategic partnership between both entities.
