Louis Blin Visits the BA

Diplomat Louis Blin, the former Consul of France in Alexandria and the special envoy at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, visited the BA during his last stay in Egypt.

Louis Blin has previously participated in several Francophone activities at the BA. During his visit to the BA, he toured the Main Reading Hall and the Our Digital World Exhibition, where he was introduced to digital and technological projects. He also visited the Taha Hussein Library, the Internet Archive, as well as the various exhibitions and museums at the BA, including the Impressions of Alexandria Exhibition, the Manuscript Museum, the Antiquities Museum, and Sadat Museum.

Louis Blin assumed his position as the French Consul General in Jeddah and the French special envoy at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on 25 July 2012. He has authored several publications in French on Egypt, Algeria, and the Gulf states. He has acquired broad experience of the Levant as he worked at the Middle East Department, the French Foreign Ministry, at the beginning of his career. He was also responsible for the file on Israel and Palestinian territories and the peace operation, and he was appointed as the senior consultant at the French Consulate in Abu Dhabi and then as the French General Consul in Alexandria. Blin later worked in Cairo for four years as a researcher at the center for economic, jurisdictional, and social research.
