The Misr Public Library in Port Said is going to host the closing of the Islamic Culture Course on Friday, 23 December 2016. The course was organized by the BA in November and December within the framework of the program for intellectually combatting extremism and terrorism.
Professors from Cairo University, Ain Shams University, Al Azhar University, and Port Said University participated in the course, which included a total of 22 lectures. The lectures focused on the Arabic language, Arab culture, literature, literary criticism, the purposes and goals of Shariah, Islamic culture, Sunnah, as well as Islamic architecture and arts.
The cooperation of the Misr Public Library in Port Said has greatly contributed to the success of the course, especially in choosing the participants. The 60 participants included university students, school students, and other youths who had powerful discussions with the lecturers. The course reflected the needs of new generations to acquire adequate knowledge of the Arabic language as a chief aspect of national identity, of Arabic literature, and of the heritage of Islamic culture.
Islamic Culture Courses began over a year ago. Twelve courses were held in Cairo, Alexandria, Asyut, Kafr El Sheikh, Giza, and Port Said, and they included 720 participating students.
