Lecture about the Symbology of Heaven in Decorated Ceilings and Domes

The BA Antiquates Museum, in cooperation with the Italian Cultural Institute, organizes a lecture entitled “The Symbology of Heaven in Decorated Ceilings and Domes” on 29 March 2010.
Professor Ilario Principe, an expert in History of Art and Architecture, displays and analyzes a number of photos showing how heaven and the skies have been portrayed in the course of history in ceilings and domes, starting with the decorations of the ceilings of Egyptian tombs to works from the 17th century Europe.
