Dr. Ismail Serageldin, Director of the Library of Alexandria, will moderate a panel discussion entitled “Reshaping Agricultural Research Systems to Meet the Needs of the Poor” on 28 March 2010, at a high level dialogue on “Reshaping Agricultural Research for Development”, held on the first day of the Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD) in Montpellier, France.
The high level dialogue comprises a series of panel discussions with each session, attended by around 800 delegates, including representatives of governments, major intergovernmental agencies, research institutions, civil society, development banks, donor agencies and the press.
Organized by the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR), the GCARD aims to create new ways to enhance the development value of agricultural research around the world. It is worth mentioning that the GCARD Steering Committee Meeting was held at the BA in November 2009.
