The Fourth Cycle of IPS Academic Courses

The Institute for Peace Studies (IPS), affiliated to the Suzanne Mubarak Women's International Peace Movement (SMWIPM), and hosted at the BA, announced its fourth round of academic courses to be held from July to November 2010, except August.
This year’s courses will cover 6 topics: Challenges of Building Culture(s) of Peace, Conflict Resolution, Mediation and Negotiation, Research and Training Methods in Peace and Conflict Studies, Gender and Peace Building, and Conflict Transformation. The lecturers are given by renowned university professors from Egypt and abroad.
Arabic is the working language in all courses, except for the Culture of Peace course in which sessions will be given in English.
Participants must have a university degree or be enrolled in a university, and should have a good knowledge of the English language.
Copies of the applicant’s ID, graduation or university certificate, personal photos and a short statement of purpose are required for application. Some courses require a statement of purpose in English, others require the completion of previous courses or a personal interview.
Registration is open daily from 9 May to 7 July and from 1 to 10 August 2010, except for Fridays and Saturdays, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm at the BACC.
Special rates are offered to students and IPS Alumni.
