Book Launch of Diaries of an Egyptian Princess
Posted on
The BA Alexandria and Mediterranean Research Center (Alex-Med) holds a book launch of Diaries of an Egyptian Princess by Princess Nevine Abbas Halim on Saturday, 29 May 2010.
Princess Nevine Abbas Halim is a member of the Egyptian Royal Family. She is the great-great grand daughter of Mohamed Ali Pasha on her father’s side.
Drawn from her own diary, as well as that of her mother and grandmother, the book takes us on a journey from one World War to the next, from Egypt to Europe and the US, from a world of privilege to social pariah. The book features rare photos of the royal family especially of Prince Abbas Halim, who has been described by his daughter as “a rebel prince who clashed with the King and championed the poor”.
The Book Launch takes place at the BACC Lectures Hall at 7:00 pm.
