Posted on
The Reference Services Unit is holding its monthly play reading in French on Wednesday, 7 July 2010. Participants will read L’Aigle à Deux Têtes (The Eagle with Two Heads) by Jean Cocteau.
The play takes place in the 19th century, and is about a lonely queen who became a widow only on her first married day, when her husband was killed. Ten years after his death, she is taken by surprise when a revolutionary poet, Stanislas, storms into her house while escaping from the police. Looking very similar to her late husband, the queen instantly falls in love. However, after 3 moon days, the Royal Court decides to put an end to this relation.
The session starts at 16:00 hrs. at the BA Arts and Multimedia Library. Participants should register their names at the General Information Desk at the Library entrance.
