The conference is carried out within the framework of the BA’s program to promote development and independence in youth and as such, several young men and women, media professionals, journalists and sport celebrities from all over the world will be participating.
The goal of the conference is to develop and promote intercultural dialogue in an attempt to protect and encourage diversity in cultural expression, with special emphasis on media and sports.
The conference was thus inaugurated by Dr. Sherif Riad, Head of the BA External Relations Sector; Dr. Mohamed Sultan, Governor of Alexandria; and Atsuko Furukawa, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
It stressed the importance of sports and media as tools for the promotion of tolerance and coexistence, thereby allowing for the creation of dialogue spaces between youth from various countries.
Furthermore, the 4th International Football Championship in Alexandria will launch within the margins of the conference during 27–29 November 2017, attracting several media professionals.
It should be noted that the conference sessions will allow participants to debate the opportunities and challenges relevant to media and youth, as well as the role of sports in intercultural dialogue.
