The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has published a book entitled Orman Botanical Garden, which is the first publication in a series documenting botanical gardens and their history in Egypt. The book comes as part of the collaboration between the BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage (CULTNAT), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation. It is considered a historical document of the establishment of Al Orman botanical garden and its history, expounding its development and highlighting its most important plants.
The BA Center for Documentation of Cultural and Natural Heritage has collaborated with the Agricultural Research Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in order to present a full documentation of Al Orman garden and its history, as well as its beauty and historical significance as being one of the oldest and most important botanical gardens in the world. The Center has also put forward a list of all the plants available in the garden, together with their HD photos, and has provided information on some plants that are of a historical, aesthetic, industrial and medical value.
