“The Art of Mosaic: Exploring Ancient Life” at the BA

The BA Antiquities Museum organizes a lecture titled “The Art of Mosaic: Exploring Ancient Life” on Monday, 14 January 2019, at 1:00 pm in the BACC Meeting Room C. The lecture will be delivered by Dr. Iman Mohsen Shahawy, Director of Archaeological Affairs, Mosaic Center, Ministry of Antiquities.
The Lecture discusses the art of mosaic, its many techniques from different ancient civilizations, and how it portrayed different topics, including mythology or scenes of hunting and daily life, in addition to its shapes that were inspired by geometry or nature. That is why the art of mosaic is considered a form of photographic archive that presents life as it was in ancient times.
